Fantasia Luwan 68: A Shanghai Apartment Inspired by Culture and Comfort

A Unique Blend of Shanghai Culture and Modern Comfort

The apartment is located in Shanghai Luwan District, the birthplace of Shanghai's indigenous people. This unique geographical position influenced the design, incorporating elements of Shanghai Shikumen architecture and western Baroque architecture. The area has a rich cultural history, attracting well-known cultural celebrities such as Ba Jin, Xu Zhi Mo, and Yu Dafu.

What sets Fantasia Luwan 68 apart is its attention to detail and the use of sketches to guide the realization of the design. The entire apartment was made according to Kris Lin's sketches, resulting in a unified mood and freedom of expression. The common area of the living room was carefully zoned, serving as both a connecting link and a functional solution.

With an area of 140 square meters, Fantasia Luwan 68 offers a seamless flow between the study, kitchen, living room, dining room, and terrace. This design allows for easy movement and interaction, whether it's enjoying a red velvet cake with a cup of coffee in the dining room, pouring a glass of champagne on the terrace while admiring the night view, or listening to music on the phonograph in the living room.

The project started in April 2020 and was completed in January 2021 in Shanghai. It was exhibited in January 2021, showcasing the unique blend of Shanghai culture and modern comfort.

Fantasia Luwan 68 was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in 2021 in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious award recognizes designs that exhibit strong technical and creative skills, contributing to quality of life improvements.
